Work/life balance- life is winning….

Does anyone else struggle with their work life balance?
I am trying to catch up on work; photo editing, painting for an upcoming exhibition, and the ongoing sorting of years of projects that need filing, finishing or throwing away!

But I keep getting distracted with my garden, seeing friends, and walking the dogs! Life is winning, work is losing!

This weekend is writing a plan to fit in everything I want to do!

Amazing experience! Hosting Anthony Schrag

A little while ago I saw a friends Facebook spot about an artist doing a pilgrimage from Deveron Arts in Huntly, Scotland, to the Venice Biennelle, by artist Anthony Schrag. I offered to host the artist for the night when he made it down to Kent. Last night we had the priviledge of his company. What a lovely, generous man, project, and concept. I need some time to process, but wanted to share and ask everyone to follow his blog and support the project! Click on all the links for more information!

My first thoughts:

The magic of the world! Whilst we discussed the oak tree sapling Anthony is carrying, the sapling of a Jospeh Beuys oak, we were also looking for a postbox, and as we took a turn, there was a big, square, brick and red post box, beneath a giant oak tree!

The world is full of inspiring, interesting, generous people.

Here are some picks! More writings to follow, I feel I need to go on a long walk!

Batemans

Hopefully starting to volunteer at Batemans, the home of R Kipling. Learning to garden and hopefully document the amazing plants! Here are a few from this morning.

The dream veggie garden!

First potatos

This morning I stood in the rain, with my grandfathers fork, digging my first potatos.

Now they are washed, blanched, iced and packed and in the freezer for later.

Home grown

Super day!

My first mangetout! Growing food from a seed is magic!

And all you need is a pot, seeds, soil, water and sunshine!

Editing images for the other blog.

Last year I tried to take a Photograph a day for a year.

I had been following some 365 day projects and tried to give it a go. It didn’t work…. I forgot, I was to busy, I got distracted etc. The best intentions of doing a fun project turned to stress of not completing something.

To resolve this I decided to keep going, posting when I can. And keep it is a piece of work in itself, a type of diary of places and things.

Today I had some time to edit a few images that will be coming up this week. Hope you choose to follow and enjoy!
