The back off effect

Having actually got up early to take the dogs  to the seaside I got home to deal with a giant marrow I was given.

With it I made:

  • ginger and narrow jam,
  • ginger, orange and current cakes
  • froze the spare marrow for later

The extra flour I tried out some rough pastry. Who knew it was so easy! Get flour, frozen butter, salt, pepper and a little water. Grate frozen butter, mix it together, stick it in the fridge for half an hour, make tarts (Filled with homemade marrow chutney and goats cheese) and eat!

Just call me Sophie Berry!

Al Weiwei responding

this work is just a pile of metal rods

each has been taken from a building that was constructed on the cheap and collapsed in the 2008 Earthquake

I think the  building was a school

Lots of people died in the twisted metal, part nature part mans greed

The rods have been straightened

Mini jams

I have a problem, I love mini pots of preserve!

They bring out a feeling of being a child again, they feel special, they are just for you!

And I especially loved having one for breakfast and finding the message in the lid!

If anyone wants to know what to get me for Christmas, it’s mini jars of preserves!

Autumn colours

The weekend showed some of the natures spectacle which is Autumn.

If you get the chance to get out and about and there is some sunshine then go!

Word pressing problems

Has anyone else been having problems with their WordPress app? I have not been able to post for a few weeks. Hope it has resolved now! Here’s a bit of what I have been up to recently!

France: markets
Hastings: getting lost

Painting: expression and inspiration

Listening to Al Weiwei and Tim Marlow.

Interesting, though provoking, inspiring

Helping set up, and exhibiting in, a local Arts Exhibion as part of Hailsham Arts Festival.
If you like my work, or my images and want to use them, please let me know!

Thanks for your time.

You can’t imagine

You can’t imagine

You can’t describe

The feeling of excitement, guilt, gratitude and pride

And being naughty , So rebellious!

We are on a plane

We are actually going

France on holiday!

And there is nothing wrong with him

A while more recovery from being so sick

From all the machines

All the operations ,

All the drugs,

All the care

But we are here,

together on a plane

Because of one persons gift

And lots of doctors, surgeons, nurses, HCAs,

Physios, nutritionists, radiographers, intensivists,

ward clarks, cleaners, porters, blood product donors,

All of them

They made this moment

You can’t imagine

You can’t describe

The feeling of excitement guilt, gratitude, love and pride

Sitting on a plane with the man I love

Going on an adventure
